Sonja Lavikko

My background is in quaternary geology and mineralogy. My professional interests consider mine site R&D, mineralogy and circular economy promotion. My current task has its focus on broadening the utilization of mined materials and promoting zero-waste mines. My PhD (2017) focused on geological and mineralogical aspects on mineral carbonation, aiming to utilize CO2-emissions and mine waste, a topic I still find very intriguing.
